The unending drive for economic growth in Europe has reached its limits and left behind fragile and gutted welfare systems. Europe has to prepare for an economy that is not dependent on economic growth. How can Europe invent or re-invent a welfare system which works well in a post-growth society? Which economic ideas of the degrowth movement can provide a foundation for everday social security? What role could the European movement for an unconditional basic income play in a post-growth society?
